| When I think of the past there's always a vision of Hell lurking. But when I think of the future, I see the ubermensch and the glory of his kingdom. Dante, I think, committed a crude blunder when, with a terror-inspiring ingenuity, he placed above the gateway of his hell the inscription: "I too was created by eternal love"—at any rate, there would be more justification for placing above the gateway to the Christian Paradise and its "eternal bliss" the inscription :"I too was created by eternal hatred"—provided a truth may be placed above the gateway to a lie! For what precisely is it that constitutes the bliss of this Paradise? We can devine this ourselves, but it's better to have it expressly told to us by an authority not to be underestimated in such matters, Thomas Aquinas, the great teacher and saint [and, may I add, favorite philosopher of those Christians who would seek to prove God's existence via reason]: "Beati in regno coelesti," he says, meek as a lamb, "videbunt poenas damnatorum, ut beatitudo illis magis complaceat." ["The blessed in the kingdom of heaven will see the punishments of the damned, in order that their bliss be more delightful for them."]
-Nietzsche, Genealogy of Morals, first essay, 15 'What a wonderful time I'm having now that I can see all the suffering those Nietzscheans are going through!' *cough* WEIRDO *cough*

| No more so than my own spirit. And anyway, I quote only that which I know is true. | |

| right,
but tell me, if you had to expose your OWN ideas, the thoughts that occur to YOUR spirit only, would you be capable of doing it?
is there something in your mind that is not 'Nietzschean'?
or you're one of those that believe Nietzsche already said everything?

I have been to the gate. The indelible inscription reads: There can be no joy in heaven while one is left suffering in hell.

I do so all the time. Here's one tiny tidbit: Against Superfluous "Holy Lies" Where truth is sufficient, there is no need for "holy lies". In relation to this one would do well to consider Paul's monster lie. Paul made of faith an inescapable obligation- his spirit engraved in stone the words 'TRUTH IS NEVER SUFFICIENT'. Subsequently, all kinds of "holy lies" came to be seen as necessary- one was in need of them at all times. Everything veracious was henceforth known as poison, evil- and it's avatar, the man of knowledge, was condemned. There is little else as infernal for us thinkers. - Quote :

Not bloody much. - Quote :
- or you're one of those that believe Nietzsche already said everything?
Certainly not. PS You really shouldn't be so presumptuous. PPS I added something to the OP.

I have been to the gate. The indelible inscription reads: There can be no joy in heaven while one is left suffering in hell. You're obviously not a Christian then, I take it? (At least, not according to the Saints.)

| The old fashioned orthodox Christians served their time and have all gone to heaven. The New Age Christian is far more eclectic. We have all been to hell and back the sign there reads: "Beware,. Slippery slope."
In fact if Nietzsche were alive today he would not recognize us and have nothing to say

he would not recognize us and have nothing to say I reckon he'd sound a bit like me, to be honest (only more strict and boring). And he'd likely urge you to denounce the Church regularly and publicly, indeed to harden the fuck up in general.

What seemed like Truth during Nietzsche's short and tragic and ill-informed life is no longer the whole truth and nothing but the truth.. Christianity has evolved along with science. Nobody but a few rednecks believe that Jesus was God anymore than you or I Nor do we believe in everlasting hell. Heaven is not some place else we have never left it It is a state of mind only crazies choose to think like Nietzshe - Quote :

Bullshit! Nietzsche had no idea of who we are. He was dead before Planck published.

Any argument about our reason for being that have been made after Christ and before quantum theory are redundant, out-dated. old-fashioned, misleading and should be relegated to the curiosity shelf.

| I reckon those spineless spiritual slaves who act like they know everything are the real problem. Their solution is imprudent; such selfish, short-sighted wisdom is against the future, which ought to be blessed. | |

What do mean by 'our reason for being'. Do you mean something like the big bang? Or do you mean our goal?

In fact if Nietzsche were alive today he would not recognize us and have nothing to say and yet you're still not welcome in a traditional Christian church they still preach that me and you are both destined to hell why don't you go and fight them instead of preaching to our deaf ears here? - Impious wrote:

| Just to change the topic a bit, for of a break, you know-
I reckon if I worshipped my Yahweh he'd say in his cute croaky voice something like 'Don't be so pathetic!'
And, you know, how Higg's disturbance is unaffected by range...
Anyhow, now I'm crapping on...

Birth and destination are part of the equation. Infant naivete to Cosmic sage Nietzsche was articulating the teenage rebellious phase. Pure pseudo-intellectual daring. "Fuck you God!" I am my own man, very necessary, but could have been done with more respect - Drone wrote:

It may have to come to that. 200 million New Agers will hopefully forge the new path without yet another internal inquisition
