a forum, as UR has said to me in another thread, is the property of its administrators. Paul does what he think it's better for him to do. If he didn't try to control whatever he can control, that place would become a mess. PF has a goal, it wasn't created to be a place for useless/crappy conversation. As long as the users respect and post according to the forum rules (which happens to include a SERIOUS advice to avoid unreasonable/bad written English), they have no problems....

i don't really see what's so offensive/hateful/intolerant in the general attitude of Paul (from PF) and Faust (from ILP)...they aren't 'slaves of the system'. They are men who happen to be moderators/administrators of big web communities and don't have time nor patience to deal with childish, hateful or disrespectul people. They simply follow the guidelines of their boards. And they're justified in doing so.

and we must remember that the judgment/criticism of banned folks is ALWAYS suspect...

Yes, let's give these people excuses to be pharisees of the highest accord. Let's give them respect for making a philosophy forum when they ban people for making statements about women.

Paul has banned people for just expressing a distaste of women; not for childishness or insults.

You didn't see the conversation me and Paul had in YIM. I sensed childishness, rudeness and all the things you described he banned people for.

He told me, in YIM, that I was becoming "annoying", and that they would look for some way to ban me. When I argued, he then self-righteously claimed that I made a statement about women, and that he felt I should not offend 50% of women on the earth. Fucking pharisee! Like he gives a damn about anything other than himself!

They look for excuses like "Netspeak" to get you off their site...forever.

For you to defend them and all the other fuckwits who have been in a position of power over the internet or in life makes me violently angry and any sort of like for you plummet even further.
